We had a beautiful day for the Christmas celebrations in Rockport this year!
With highs in the 50s, huge crowds were out for the parade and other activities and the Lincoln Pioneer Village had a great turnout of visitors as well. The cabin fire was cozy, the cookies and wassail were fantastic and the stories told by longtime residents were so interesting to hear.
The museum was also open and had a constant stream of people interested in learning more about the history of Abe Lincoln and his early years in Spencer County. With the revamped displays this year, ongoing restoration of the cabins, and the upcoming restoration of the rocker-beater loom before spring, there is always something new to see! The museum is closed for the winter season, but is open by appointment by emailing the museum director at firstname.lastname@example.org
