Hometown Authors

Local Authors will be showcasing their talent including Jean Morris Klusmeier, who wrote a book along with her identical twin sister, Joyce Morris Doty who recently passed early 2023 at the age of 85. They spent their entire childhood growing up in Rockport Indiana, graduating from Rockport High School in 1956. They each had an interest and dabbled in writing throughout their lives, but it wasn’t until they were 84 years old that they decided to put their heads together to write a book that reflected their childhood memories, as well as showcases Rockport as they remember it from the 1940s-1950s. Their book “Our Boys’ Summer Adventure” is a children’s book that follows three boys on their own adventure around Rockport today while also learning about Rockport’s rich history.

Jean and Joyce also have another children’s book called “Why Does My Puppy Have Blue Eyes?” available at most online bookstores.

Jean plans to continue writing in memory of her sister.
